life of faith

back to oasis

i visited oasis fellowship service in the afternoon today, and it was a time of refreshment and much joy stepping into the compound after exactly a year. this was the place where our hanoi team met up for preparation, and this time i was going to listen to the testimonies of the new team which just returned. wow.. it was definitely exciting to be able to hear what God has been doing, and it also served a personal reminder of God’s faithfulness & guidance all this while, how one year has passed but He remains the same. it is also wonderful to see familiar faces serving the Lord there!

habakkuk 2:14 outside YWAM base just beside the oasis compound. this is one of my favourite verses. till God’s glory be filled in this world!

one of the posters i saw before stepping in for service. very wise words to reflect upon, regarding the difference between a job and a ministry. have we been treating our service unto the Lord as a job or a ministry?

anyway, the fellowship service was simple, in fact they had only about 10 people. this is about the same size as a cg but God’s magnificence does not depend on the size of the congregation. the worship ministered and uplifted me so much. there were some things which He showed more clearly today, regarding personal growth directions for the coming year. it was impressed strongly again today, that He requires my greater devotion and yielding of the heart for 2010. i’m very excited to follow through on this, and see how He would be guiding me through in the coming year.

then the team shared about their trip, about God’s providence and blessing upon the church and the team, and the amazing spiritual hunger of the people there. and what i can say is that God is moving in hanoi, there is a revival happening right now. there were mass evangelistic events taking place when the team left for singapore, and being a closed communist country where you would be arrested for being a christian, the fact that people are turning up for such events really shows that God is indeed working actively there. we should continue to keep this country in prayer, for them to be strengthened and be discipled well even in the midst of possible persecution for their faith. may the nation come to recognise the one and only true and living God! and we know that the gospel is advancing and bearing fruit, all over the world!

Colossians 1:6 “All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth.”
