Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

have you heard of people telling you, “just have faith lah”? so what does it mean by that? faith. something that sounds so simple yet requires my lifelong understanding and application. personally, i’m still learning and i can never learn enough about it because faith is so much more than just believing or being ignorant to reality. to me, it is taking God at His word. every promise that He made, every character trait that He is. it is about going to the very essence of His being, and placing my hope in Him. and as i grow in my knowledge and experience of Him, i grow in my faith. it’s not so much about having faith for the sake of having it, for that would be a sort of self-assured confidence, but rather it is about knowing the One that we are having our faith in. so when we trust that our finances would be provided for, it is because we trust in Him who is the Provider. and when we trust in someone’s recovery of health, it is because we trust in Him who is the Healer.

what are some of the situations that we face difficulties having faith in? could it be due to our lack of understanding of His character? perhaps we need to first examine what He says about Himself, and we place our faith accordingly, taking His word for real?
